Michael Engle

@AuthorMichaelEngle · Michael Engle was born in Harlan, Kentucky and graduated from the University of Kentucky with an engineering degree. He also has an MS in Space Science and an MS in Aeronautical Science. He worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas for 38 years. During that time he was an astronaut training engineer, a spacecraft design engineer, and a Space Shuttle flight controller in Mission Control. His last assignment was as the Chief Engineer for Flight Safety in the Astronaut Office. Mike has been a pilot for over 40 years, and he enjoys reading and writing about airplanes and spacecraft. His first book - "Landing Eagle - Inside the Cockpit During the First Moon Landing" is the first book to give a detailed, minute-by-minute account of the first Moon landing from the perspective of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as they piloted the Lunar Module Eagle down to a landing on the Sea of Tranquility.
